Crayon lands 140 million euro agreement with Ministry of Defense in the Netherlands
(OSLO, Norway) – Crayon, a global leader in digital transformation services, announced today an approximately EUR 140 million agreement over four years with the Ministry of Defense in the Netherlands.
This significant, public-sector win furthers Crayon’s growth strategy in the region and creates an avenue for the ministry to explore implementing innovative technologies such as AI, Machine Learning and IoT.
Through this deal Crayon will use its expertise to deliver software and software-related services to the ministry’s nearly 64,000 employees. Among the solutions that will be implemented are those from Microsoft, Oracle and Citrix.
“This agreement in the Netherlands further illustrates our strong impact in regions outside our core Nordic markets. We have a strategic growth plan that scales our success globally and we look forward to bringing our best practices in optimizing IT estates to the Ministry of Defense,” said Crayon CEO Torgrim Takle.
The agreement was part of a European public tender. Under it, Crayon will provide the proper software, licensing and all related services to the Ministry of Defense.
“This deal underpins our strategic growth plan in the Netherlands,” said Ronald Hoeijenbos, Crayon’s CEO for Benelux. “Crayon has been in this region for nearly seven years and this is an important milestone as it will demonstrate our expertise to help our customers to get the most out of their IT investments in a sustainable way. And simultaneously allow for the exploration of opportunities for more efficiency and security through other areas of our business such as cloud economics, AI and IoT.”
Crayon is the leading global independent cloud provider and has been named the Microsoft No. 1 Partner of the Year for AI and Machine Learning in the world.
