Our experts are also able to perform an in-depth review of your on-premises environment. If we end up creating an AWS environment as part of the engagement, you are still eligible to receive up to $5,000 in AWS credits.

1.    Schedule and Prepare

To schedule, complete the form above to get started. We will reach out to you and collect some necessary information. Our representative will also set up a call to walk you through all the Well-Architected Review program details and steps. 


2.    Review and Plan Remediation

Next, we will schedule two to four hours to complete the review. During this stage of the process, we will ask in-depth questions about your critical workload(s). Our team will then take all your answers and compile a detailed report of where your architecture is Well-Architected, needs improvement, or where critical remediation is recommended. Note: It takes a few days to analyze your answers and pull together a detailed report.


3.    Implement Priorities $5K

Along with the detailed report, we will also present you with a comprehensive plan to remediate any critical items identified. Some of these items may be simple to resolve, and you may choose to fix them yourself. While other items may be more complicated or require a larger staff capacity than you have to address promptly. If this is the case, we will include a Statement Of Work (SOW) for up to $5,000 to help you resolve the issues found as soon as possible.


4.    Review Results and up to $5,000 AWS Credits

Up to this point, our services are completely free. If you decide to partner with us and have Crayon remediate the critical issues found, we, as a Well-Architected AWS Partner, can request a maximum of $5,000 worth of AWS credits to be applied to your account once the remediation is complete.

What is a Well-Architected Review?

The AWS Well-Architected review helps to understand the state of your workloads and compares them to the latest AWS architectural best practices.


How long does a Well-Architected Review take?

A Well-Architected review meeting can take between 2-4 hours. A followup meeting will be required to discuss the result and recommendations.


Who needs to get involved?

The Well-Architected Review touches the five areas discussed in the pillars above, and it is important all parties are involved to get the most out of the review meeting. The following roles are typically involved:

  • DevOps Engineer
  • Developer
  • Security Engineer
  • DBA
  • Support
  • Infrastructure Engineer


Are there any prerequisites I need to meet or anything I need to prepare?

You must have access to existing documentation or architecture diagrams of the workloads you want us to review. You will also need to have a read-only access login for the AWS account and access to the Well-Architected tool in the AWS console.


How many Well-Architected Reviews should/can I do?

There is no limit. (It is recommended to re-visit a workload every three to six months.)


How much does a Well-Architected Review cost?

It’s totally FREE of cost.
